T: I heard you recently had an interaction with Ellen! Can you tell us a bit about that?

F: Yes! It was the most amazing, exciting, and memorable experience. I wrote in to nominate Jaime, my roommate and best friend, as someone deserving for holiday cheers this season. Never in a million years did I think we would be on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. We thought we were going to watch the show from the Riff-Raff room and before we know it, Ellen DeGeneres was calling our names to come on stage. It was a complete surprise!!

T: What sparked your interest in fashion? Who inspires you?

F: I’ve always had a real passion for this industry. I think what stood out to me most was how an individual could really express themselves through clothing. Alexander McQueen’s designs are the most powerful and have had an impact on my style. His styles are very avant-garde and each collection tells a different story. I’m also really inspired by Danielle Bernstein of the blog WeWoreWhat. She recently designed her own overalls collection, Second Skin Overalls, and shoe line, Archive shoes. What she has accomplished and how hard she works is something I would like to emulate.

T: What are your favorite stores to shop at?

F: I love being able to style low end pieces to make them look like luxury. So, Zara, Topshop, and Forever21 are a few of my favorites and of course I am obsessed with Bloomingdale’s (and you all should be too!) – I’m working in their training program when I graduate and couldn’t be more excited.

T:  What is your most prized possession in your closet?

F: My Givenchy Antigona bag. I received this as a High School graduation gift and I will have it forever. It’s a very versatile bag that can take me from jeans to a suit. It was my first expensive item and I take very good care of it.

T: What advice would you give your younger self?

F: To not be afraid of failure. I used to want to be perfect at everything I did, but as I grew up and matured, I’ve learned that it’s important to fail, because that’s how you learn to get back up and work harder at what you want to accomplish.
