Best Off Campus Study Spots

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

Now that finals are coming up, it’s time to buckle down and start studying. While campus offers multiple different locations to memorize materials or craft an essay, sometimes it’s necessary to do work off campus and escape for the day. Here are some great locations to study by Emory that will make exam prep a bit more enjoyable.

ChocoLaté

Located near Clairmont campus, this coffee shop is a great place to get some work done. With lots of different options to drink and different of spots to study, it’s a great option that’s not too far for those who don’t have cars. This shop boasts free wifi and comfortable seating, perfect for anyone who is looking for a cozy and relaxing place to study!

Parish

A cute little place near Atlanta’s Beltline, Parish is a nice spot a little bit further away from Emory’s campus.  It still provides a multitude of different seating options including picnic tables if you are looking for outdoor seating. Another great aspect about Parish is the food! You can get sandwiches and other food than the normal sweet treats normally offered at a coffee shop.

Hodgepodge

Another great coffeeshop for studying, Hodgepodge, provides its own unique signature drinks in addition to normal coffee – a good way to try and stay awake as you’re memorizing notes. This coffeeshop not only provides a great study space, but also has art all over the walls, creating a nice artsy aesthetic inside. Hodgepodge is a definite must for any art and coffee enthusiast.

Octane

With multiple locations all over Atlanta, Octane is a great place to be productive. It can be easily reached and has a nice ambiance for working. In addition, Octane is starting to sell their mugs and coffee so you can bring it back home with you when you get too tired to stay in the shop. Octane provides multiple different seating options to fulfill any necessary study spots you may require (tables, booths, etc.). It is the perfect combination of a good coffeeshop and study spot.

Studying will never be ‘fun,’ but it can be a lot less of a hassle if you have the right motivation and are i right place to do your work. With these different locations, hopefully you’ll be able to utilize the change of scenery, food and coffee provided to study hard and ace those exams!
