Love In A Hopeless PlaceBy April 5, 2013 - 12:00am A few years ago, I sat across from my grandma, like any young girl, wide-eyed and curious. I was curious as to why she had never dated or re-married. I looked up at her and asked, and she replied, “Oh, honey. I’m still in love with my husband. We will be together again.” Later, my sister told me that my grandma carries a picture of my granddad with her and every morning, when she wakes up and has her morning coffee she feels like he is with her. We read the epic love novels and watch rom-com’s and other sappy love dramas and sit there wishing that our love lives could be like that. We are told love isn’t like the movies and things don’t happen that way, but sometimes (all the time) I wonder “why not?” READ... |

With the Final Four of the NCAA March Madness tournament hosted right around the corner and Dooley’s Week on campus, school spirit has been in full effect. While many students from Michigan, Syracuse, Louisville, and Wichita State are calling Atlanta home for the weekend, Emory students know better than to let our own school spirit be belittled. Just look around and see Emory’s blue and maize gold sported all over campus. READ MORE |

Exploring Emory PointBy April 3, 2013 - 12:00am For those students lacking cars, i.e. lacking pretty much the only way to get off campus without having to chase down a shuttle, Emory can undoubtedly begin to feel like a slightly restrictive bubble after a while. Sure, Emory Village serves as somewhat of an escape, but unless you’re really hungry and in the mood for a quick and easy meal, it really doesn’t have that much to offer, plus it tends to get repetitive. Lucky for all Emory students, both car-owners and the car-less alike, a new retail-and-living development off of Clifton Road has recently opened up its shop doors: welcome to Emory Point, a refuge of sorts within walking distance of main campus that offers everything from a wide range of restaurants and shops to a CVS and a spa.... |

Boost Your Body Image: Looking, Feeling and Staying Healthy at EmoryBy March 31, 2013 - 8:42pm We’ve all heard it before: “be yourself; everyone else is already taken” and “no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” The question is, do we actually believe that? Do we act on it? Do we see ourselves as the best version of ourselves, or, better yet, anywhere near the way others view us? We hate to call you out, Emory, but there’s definitely some work left to be done to boost the body image on our campus. Good news is, there is a wide range for what is “normal” in terms of esteem and there is an even greater variety of things that can be done to maintain a healthy body and a positive body image.
