24 Disney Channel Original Movies you Forgot you Loved

Disney Channel Original Movies pretty much defined our childhood.  We grew up when they were at their prime, and nothing will ever quite be able to compete with these classics.  There are so many great ones, but here are 24 you will be happy to remember.

1. Brink (1998)

Andy Brinker skates for fun with his friends as part of the soul-skater.  When he finds out his parents are in financial trouble, he joins Team X-Bladz, who skate for money, but are not the nicest group.  He knows his parents and friends would dissapprove, so he tries to hide his new secret.

2. Halloweentown (1998)

When Marnie discovers her grandmother is a witch, Marnie and her two siblings follow their grandmother to Halloweentown, where it is Halloween all year long. 

3. Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century (1999)

Zenon lives on a space station in the year 2049.  She gets into trouble and is sent to live on Earth with her aunt, where she has a hard time adjusting.  She discovers some shady evidence about the space station’s captain and must use her new earth friends to help her return to space. The outfits and supernova girl …enough said

4. The Thirteenth Year (1999)

On his thirteenth birthday, Cody starts to turn into a mermaid.  This makes life pretty challenging.

5. Smart House (1999)

Nick wins a completely computerized house in a competition.  This is great at first (food, laundry, everything on demand), until the computer starts to be the one in control. 

6. Johnny Tsunami (1999)

Johnny moves from Hawaii to Vermont, where the private school kids ski and the public school kids snowboard.  Johnny goes to private school, but wants to snowboard because it is more like surfing.  Can he break down the barrier?

7. The Ultimate Christmas Present (2000)

Allie steals a weather machine wanting to give CA a white Christmas.  However, the machine breaks and creates an out-of-control snow storm.

8. The Color of Friendship (2000)

Mahree, who lives in South Africa, is thrilled when she is chosen to spend a semester in the United States with the Dellum family.  However, both are in for a surprise when neither is the skin color the other expected.

9. Quints (2000)

Jamie was used to all of the attention as an only child for 13 years, until her mother had quintuplets. Jamie must deal with sharing the attention and learn not to resent her newfound situation.

10. Model Behavior (2000)

An ordinary girl and a model, who happen to look identical, run into each other and, envious of each other’s lives, decide switch places. They are killing it at being the other person, until it all falls apart.  Justin Timberlake circa 2000, need I say more?

11. Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire (2000)

Siblings Adam and Chelsea set their mom up with a mystery man, excited to sneak out of the house while she’s gone.  However, the excitement fades when they discover the date is a vampire.

12. Phantom of the Megaplex (2000)

On the day of the huge premiere of “Midnight Mayhem”, chaos enues at the theater.  With all of the strange occurrences the story of the phantom of the megaplex starts to spread, and 17-year-old Sean must figure out the cause of the madness before the premiere.

13. Life Size (2000)

While trying to bring her mom back to life, Casey accidentally brings her doll to life.  This becomes an even bigger issue when Casey’s dad begins to fall for the doll (Eve).  You can’t forget “Shine Bright, Shine Far“! 

14. Seventeen Again (2000)

While divorced grandparents Cat and Gene watch their grandchildren for a weekend, a lab experiment goes wrong and transforms them into teenagers again. 

15. Luck of the Irish (2001)

Kyle is notorious for his luck, though not sure exactly why he has it.  One day, he visits an Irish carnival and unknowingly has the gold coin he wears swapped for a fake one.  He becomes extremly unlucky and his family start to turn into leprechauns. Kyle must find a way to get back the gold coin and stop the curse. 

16. Double Teamed (2002)

This is the true story of Heather and Heidi Burge and their journey to becoming professional WNBA players.

17. Cadet Kelly (2002)

Kelly is faced with culture shock when she is forced to go to military school when her mother marries a General, and they are forced to move.  She feels out of place and has several confrontations with Cadet Captain Jennifer.  This flick is best known for starring Hilary Duff and Chrity Carlson Romano when we were extremly obessessed with them both.

 

18. Get a Clue (2002)

When a teacher goes missing, Lexy must pair up with her rival from the school paper to find him. 

19. Gotta Kick it Up (2002)

Based on a true story of a middle school dance team, a young teacher helps a group of girls find themselves and overcome obstacles through new styles of dance.  But really…¡Sí se puede!

20. The Cheetah Girls (2003)

The Cheetah Girls hope to become pop sensations, but encounter obstacles on the journey.

21. Eddie’s Million Dollar Cook Off (2003)

Eddie loves baseball, plus all of his friends are on the team and his dad’s the coach.  However, he also discovers he really enjoys cooking, but is afraid of what everyone will think.  He enters a competition that can get him into culinary school and becomes a finalist, but it turns out the baseball championship and cookout are on the same day.

22. Stuck in the Suburbs (2004)

When Britany’s phone is accidentally switched with the attractive pop singer Jordan Cahill, Britany and her new friend Natasha decide to use his phone to mess with his life. Along the way they discover secrets about Jordan and learn more about themselves.

23 Tiger Cruise (2004)

Maddie and her family go on a week long cruise for military families.  The second day on the cruise the September 11th attacks occur, forcing the ship into combat mode.  As more information is released, emotions run high on the ship.

24. Now You see it… (2005) 

Allyson is looking for the next big star for a reality T.V. show for magicians.  She finds Danny who is extremly good at magician.  Little does she know he has a secret of his own: all of his magic is real.
