It doesn’t matter whether it’s summer, fall, spring, or winter—maxi skirts are always in fashion. They’re trendy, the variety is never-ending, and, to be honest, they‘re one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing in our closets. Let’s face it though, they can be hard to style sometimes, leaving us wondering, ‘Is this top too long for the skirt?’ ‘Do these shoes go with my outfit?’ ‘Does this outfit look way too colorful?’ More often than not, we give up and just style them with a tank top. There’s so much scope when it comes to styling maxi skirts though; hopefully these little tricks and tips will help you out!

1. Layer your maxi with a simple cardigan. Fall is almost here anyways

2. Accessorize away. Be it a simple necklace, a pair of earrings, or a statement piece, it never hurts!

3. Go all out with crop tops! You could wear your skirt low or even high to show a small strip of skin—whatever you find more comfortable.

4. A plain white t-shirt can work wonders too. Sometimes simplicity is just the way to go.

5. Belts are extremely useful when it comes to maxi skirts, especially if you want to wear a baggy shirt on top of your skirt. Besides, it looks fantastic!

6. Another style that’s great for the chilly weather is wearing it with a nice warm sweater! You can never go wrong when you put that on top of a maxi.

7. T-strap sandals always look great with maxi skirts. Sometimes we tend to think shoes don’t make a difference to an outfit, but they really do!

8. Top your outfit off with a denim jacket. This works especially during the fall or spring.

9. Style it by wearing a button down shirt!

10. Finally, accessorize your skirt with a scarf—especially if you do decide to just go ahead and wear the tank top after all!
