It’s April, and Boston is finally at the end of a long, hard winter. After trekking to class all semester in the cold and wind, our dry, cracked skin needs a major pick-me-up. Whether you love DIY beauty products or you’d rather go the BUY route, these fun concoctions will have you feeling soft and ready for summer in no time!

If you’re willing to put a little work in, there are tons of great DIY lotions and balms out there you can try. Thenerdyfarmwife.com has a variety of organic lotion and balm recipes including this flowery lotion that’s just perfect for springtime! If that looks a bit too complicated, savynaturalista.com has a super simple recipe for “Pretty in Pink” body butter. It was originally used by the author to support breast cancer, and though it looks good enough to eat, you really shouldn’t.

If DIY just isn’t your thing, totalbeauty.com has a list of the 13 best lotions under $10, perfect for a college student’s budget. They cleverly suggest picking up your favorite brands (such as Aveeno) in the baby aisle to save some dough.

If you are in the mood to give yourself a mini spa day, you also can’t go wrong with Sephora’s face masks. For only $6, these colorful little circles cater to your specific skin needs. The violet “Rose Mask” is a good post-winter find, with “ultra moisturizing and brightening” qualities.

Lip scrubs are super easy to DIY; all you need is some sugar and olive oil and you have yourself an exfoliator! However, if you want to get a little more creative, brit.co has a list of 23 yummy lip scrub recipes for everyone’s tastes! This coffee one they grabbed from littlemissmama.com looks like a refreshing choice as finals get closer.

If you’d rather just grab your lip scrub in store, try Lush. Their bubblegum flavor looks utterly delicious and the little pod will go a long way.

No matter your method, your skin is sure to be feeling reinvigorated this spring. Hopefully you’ll feel just a bit more ready to take on the last few weeks of the semester.
