This winter has been the mildest yet, so really, we can’t complain. But do we? Of course! Here’s a play list to get you excited for spring. Days by The Drums
An upbeat little jam that makes you feel like you’re at the beach! Listen to this while jogging, or if you’re trying to forget about someone for the past. Or maybe even if you’re doing both at the same time, you multitasker you. Ain’t Nothing Like You [Hoochie Coo] by Blakroc
Blast this in your headphones as you’re walking down the street and try not to feel sexy. I dare you. READ MORE

Movie Review: 21 Jump Street

By Grace Gibson
March 29, 2012 - 1:23am

21 Jump Street, a comedy starring Oscar nominee (yeah, he’s an Oscar nominee now) Jonah Hill and that guy seemingly every girl in my ninth-grade class had a crush on, Channing Tatum, was made with a surprising amount of intelligence. I have to admit I was skeptical when I first heard about it…a movie based on the hilariously cheesy TV show starring a young Johnny Depp that most members of its target audience have never heard of? How funny can it be? However, I was convinced of its potential value when I asked my fellow Her Campus staffers at our last meeting what movie I should review for next week and the room practically exploded with enthusiasm for it. Bands My Little Sister Likes (And I Secretly Like Too!)

By Lorena Mora
March 27, 2012 - 4:58pm

Think it's shameful to still have your favorite *NSYNC song on your iPod? Shake off your embarrassment, because there's a new batch of boy bands capturing our hearts. Gone are the days when Justin Timberlake's hair resembled uncooked ramen noodles; the days when it might not have been OK to be crushing on Nick Jonas because he wasn't 18 yet; and, yes, gone are the days of Bieber Fever. It's 2012, and our airwaves are filled with the girl-power anthems of Katy Perry and the dubstep stylings of Skrillex. There's no room on our Billboard charts for 5 extremely cute boys cooing to thousands of preteen girls – or is there? READ MORE

ABC Family: Television Dream or Disaster?

By Alicia Lazzaro
March 26, 2012 - 5:41pm

With the looming suspense of “A” Day of Pretty Little Liars behind us, I’m going to take this opportunity to admit that I am obsessed with ABC Family shows, and I know I’m not the only one. However, we also need to admit that these shows are actually really, really bad. They are no comedic geniuses like the Office or Community. They don’t have the dramatic chops that Dexter has – okay, well they have a different, more girly kind of drama. The dialogue isn’t that good (I’m thinking Secret Life) and the plot lines are painfully obvious. But why have I seen every single episode of most of these shows, just like most of you? They are addicting. READ MORE

Movie Review: THE HUNGER GAMES

By Stefani Robinson
March 26, 2012 - 10:18am

I will be the first to say that I had many preconceived notions about “The Hunger Games” movie, which opens today, Friday March 23. As a devoted reader and loyal fan of the novels, my expectations of the film version were excitable to say the least. Naturally, as a true Hunger Games fanatic, I saw the midnight premier of the film in IMAX; for the entirety of the movie, I was COMPLETELY captivated.   “The Hunger Games” takes viewers through a cyclone of emotions. Throughout the movie theater, audible gasps of fear, happiness, laughter, and sadness dominated the space. Audience members openly cried tears. I cried, and I never cry. READ MORE

Thrifty in the City: Gel Manicures for under $50

By Kassmin Williams
March 22, 2012 - 11:00pm

It’s 1 A.M and you’ve just finished painting your nails a new spring shade you purchased earlier in the day. You feel your eyes closing, but fight it because you don’t want to risk ruining the nails you just spent hours painting. You blow on them for a few minutes, and then turn on The Soup:911 to make the drying time pass. Thirty minutes have passed and you’re convinced your nails are dry. As a precaution, you sleep with your hands flat. Somehow you still manage waking up to smudged, lumpy nails. READ MORE

Lindsay Lohan: Back and Ready for Action?

By Annie Whitehouse
March 21, 2012 - 7:24pm

You knew the handshake from the Parent Trap. You wished you were Lola from Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. You wished you could take a ride on Chad Michael Murray’s motorcycle in Freaky Friday. And you’re still quoting Mean Girls. It’s undeniable that while we collegiettes were growing up, Lindsay Lohan was poised to be the face of our generation. Aside from some junior drama with Hilary Duff and Aaron Carter, she was fresh-faced and seemed innocent; she was the red-headed, well-spoken girl next door, and we couldn’t help but root for her continued success.  But then, this happened: READ MORE

By Shannon Dwyer
March 19, 2012 - 6:32pm

Dear Shannon, I feel like my best friends at other colleges have forgotten about me or don't care about me as much anymore. They're too into their new college friends to even give me a text every now and then. It hurts my feelings, but every time I bring it up they apologize and say they'll make more of an effort, but they don't. What should I do? Help! Sincerely, Trying to be a good friend READ MORE
