Best Date Night Restaurants Around Boston

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emerson chapter.

Boston is full of great, casual places to get your food. Between the surprisingly delicious selection of food trucks, some great pizza parlors and awesome deli selections, there are plenty of places to get a quick meal when you’re on the run. But when it comes time to go on a date, these types of places don’t always suffice. Here are some great date night restaurants, both high end and more casual, for those nights when you are with that special someone.

1. Max Brenner

745 Boylston St., Boston, MA 02116

This is the perfect spot for the dessert lovers out there. While Max Brenner does carry some normal dinner and lunch type items, the selection pales in comparison to their selection of desserts. They carry something for everyone. There are shakes, sundaes, crepes, waffles and so much more. I would highly recommend any one of the fondue options. When I think of date night desserts, fondue seems to be the perfect way to go.

2. Del Frisco’s Steakhouse

250 Northern Ave., Boston, MA 02210

This is the place to go on those very special occasions, because it is definitely not a cheap option. This decadent restaurant features a wide variety of steak and seafood options as well as some more typical meals as well. For those of you over 21, there is a large selection of wines. But what makes this place a truly romantic destination is the outstanding view. One of the walls is entirely a window that overlooks the water, making for a perfectly picturesque view. I would recommend visiting during the warmer season when the outdoor seating is open and you can have an unblocked view of the ocean. If you are really lucky, there might even be a concert playing at the venue next door.

3. Giacomo’s Restaurant

355 Hanover St., Boston, MA 02113

If you are looking for a Lady and the Tramp style dinner, then Giacomo’s is definitely the place to go. While most restaurants in the North End are the perfect spot for a date night out, Giacomo’s has always been a favorite of my family. It features huge portions of delicious pasta, so you most likely will have a doggy bag to take home. (Did you catch my pun?) This favorite of the locals doesn’t take reservations, so don’t be surprised if you have to wait in line. But don’t worry, it’s worth it.

4. Island Creek Oyster Bar

500 Commonwealth Ave., Boston, MA 02215

If seafood is your meal of choice, Island Creek Oyster Bar is definitely a place to check out. The ambiance and decorations are impeccable and the food is absolutely delicious. This particular restaurant is known for their raw bar so if you are into that, give it a shot. After all, oysters are said to be an aphrodisiac.
