Most of us here at Emerson have been given some sort of creative ability, but what truly matters is how you use that talent. Art In Action is an opportunity for the Emerson community to come together, showcasing our artistic abilities while supporting a wonderful cause: the children of Haiti. Emerson cultural organizations EBONI, Amigos, ASIA, and Speak Up! have combined efforts to put on this open mic event consisting of musicians, comedians and singers. Local Boston artists M Dash & Flex will give a traditional Haitian musical performance while student paintings, drawings and photography will be on display. The highlight of the event will be a testimony given by Christine Bernard, an international student from Haiti who was there during the earthquake, to illustrate the reality of the situation at hand. There will also be food, drinks and drawings for gift certificates to local businesses. Art In Action costs $5 per person, and all proceeds will be donated to Grace Children’s Hospital in Haiti, which was severely damaged during the earthquake. What better way to support your fellow students, have fun, and support a great cause?
