Halloween is fast approaching, and you may be at a loss of what to do on this spooky holiday. Here are some great ideas of things to do around Boston on Halloween!

1. Go see The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Loews Boston Common. The movie theatre closest to Emerson’s campus is right next door, and they have a cast that performs Rocky Horror every Saturday night! They have a special Halloween night show starting at 11:30pm. You can order tickets here and go check out this crazy 70s classic! AMC Loews will also be playing The Nightmare Before Christmas at 8pm, so if Rocky Horror isn’t your taste, be sure to check that out!

2. Hit the dance floor at Machine Night Club. Machine is a nightclub that offers 18+ admission on Friday nights. There will be a costume contest as well as a dance party on Halloween, so if you’re in the mood to get out and dance, check out Machine! Doors open at 10pm.

3. Plan a day trip to Salem. Salem is an awesome place to visit year round, but it’s especially spooky around Halloween! There are ghost tours, witch trials, and lots of shops and graveyards to explore. It’s easy to spend a day in Salem and not even come close to seeing everything, so this is something you can do every year.

4. Trick-or-treat in Beacon Hill. Beacon Hill is known for their amazing haunted house decorations during the Halloween season. Check out some of the crazy decorations and show off your costume. You’re never too old for candy!

5. Check out some graveyards. King’s Chapel Burying Ground and Granary Burying Ground are two historic graveyards to check out on Halloween. If you’re into history, you can learn about some really awesome historical figures at these two local areas.

On October 30th, be sure to check out Emerson’s very own Campus Center Haunted House, which is sure to be awesome and very scary! Also on the 30th, the Museum of Fine Arts hosts MFA After Dark, which is free to all college students and is a night of haunted happenings at the Museum. Get into the Halloween spirit and enjoy!
