5 Steals and A Splurge: Cosmetics Every Collegiette Should Own

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emerson chapter.

Need to revitalize your cosmetics drawer, but low on cash? Here are five things that every girl should have that won’t break the bank and one thing that she should treat herself too.

Steals

Lush Fresh Face Masks ($6.95)

Don’t let your skin suffer from all these changes in the weather. Pamper it with an organic fresh face mask from Lush. These products are made out of organic substances to keep your skin in tip top shape. Got oily or acne-prone skin? Try the Cupcake mask—it’s as yummy as it sounds. It clears up blemishes and smells amazing. If your skin is more on the dry side, try their Oatfix mask. This banana and oat filled mask will make your skin feel moisturized and super soft.
Find it at: Lush (on Newbury Street)

Garnier Fructis Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Roller ($13.79)

It’s that time of the semester when it seems that you have more essays to write then there are hours in the day. Don’t let all that studying effect your looks. The Garnier Fructis Anti-Dark Circle Roller is a miracle worker for collegiettes. Just roll the wand under your eyes for a concealed and brightened effect. Don’t let the tint of the product fool you. The coloring is there to contrast the blue pigments of the dark circles; the tint blends in nicely with a wide-range of skin tones. Also, the product has a slight cooling effect that feels lovely on tired, puffy eyes.

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in 720A Sunny ($2.99)

Got the winter blues? Perk up your skin with a little hint of bronze. This bronzer is the best that I have found at the drugstore and even beat out a few at the department store. It’s a matte bronzer that is very blendable, so it’s great when you a need a quick pick-me-up for your skin before class. Also, it works with a wide variety of skin tones, and you cannot beat that price!

MAC Cosmetics Lipstick ($14.50)

MAC lipsticks are by far some of the best in cosmetics. They have amazing pigmentation and come in a variety of colors. Try “Russian Red” for a hot red lip or “Hot Gossip” for a more muted tone. Beware, for they can have a slight transfer, so make sure to blot your lips after you apply it.

Splurge

Moroccan Oil ($23-$65)

Need to treat yourself to luxurious hair? This tropical vacation in a bottle is definitely the product to buy. This oil will transform your hair. It turns dull hair into silky, soft strands overnight.
