A Study Guide to Studying

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Elon chapter.

It is that time of year again…the final exams, class presentations, and group projects are back! With exams beginning in less than a week, it is time to kick into study mode, start study guides, and get everything organized before summer break. Here is a quick “study guide to studying” that will help you survive the next week or so. Don’t forget to take time for yourself and remember you are almost at the finish line. Good luck, you got it!

1. Find the perfect study spot

There are so many great places on campus that will allow you to strictly focus on your work. From the library to the communications building, find a nook that is quiet and away from any distractions.

2. Make a study schedule

Map out what you are going to study and when. Spacing out each subject will allow you to concentrate on what is most important. Remember to cross one bridge at a time!

3. Take breaks

Always take breaks and allot time for yourself. Frying your brain will only hurt you in the end and with lunch breaks you will be able to give your body and mind a much-needed rest.

4. Condense your paper

Create a condensed study guide and stick to it! It is always helpful to have all your information in one place.

5. Eat well

Fuel your body and choose foods that will give you the perfect amount of energy to focus on your work.

6. Exercise

Let out your stress by hitting the gym or running outside.

7. Think positively

Keep yourself motivated by thinking positively and surrounding yourself with supportive people who are just as motivated as you are.

8. Get sleep

Recharge every night with the necessary about of sleep. Treat your study day like a 8am-5pm work day!

9. Reward yourself

Treat yourself as a reward for all your hard work whether that is going out for ice cream or seeing a movie with friends.

10. Remind yourself that summer is almost here

You have so much to look forward to so finish this year on a high note and give it your all!

Congratulations on a great year! All your hard work will pay off!
