Meet Lexi Britt. Lexi is a vibrant and incredibly driven junior at Elon and community member who has a love for self expression and immersing herself in her passions. She recently has become interested in fashion and design in part due to starting her own jewelry business (The Sunshine Collection – follow her on Instagram!). Where are you now? “I’m currently studying abroad in London for the semester and trying to travel as much as possible! Being here has been incredible and a dream for a long time, and after a month here I can confidently say this was the right place for me to study. With so much to do and it being so easy to travel, I’ve already experienced so much and can’t wait to see what the rest of the semester has in store!”

Hobbies: Lexi loves to travel and take pictures. These hobbies have developed through summers of adventure camps and traveling and wanting to capture it all.
When did you first decide to make a business out of the Sunshine Collection? “After weeks of making jewelry for myself and having some friends want to buy pieces, I decided that it would be fun to make a business out of it and begin to really sell them! I had no idea that it would take off the way it did and that a little over a year later I would have thousands of followers.”
What do you love most about having your business? “Beyond the therapeutic effects making jewelry has on me, I love the sense of pride that comes with having my own business. It’s really special to be able to tell people that I’ve started my own company, had amazing success far beyond what I could have ever expected and that I’m only 20 years old!”
What are your future plans with the Sunshine Collection? “When I get back from being abroad I want to really dive back into The Sunshine Collection and continue to expand it. Although I’ve taken a little step back in order to dive into the culture and life abroad, I want to continue to develop the brand, the products, and to expand into a company that has a far greater reach than it already does!”
