Nothing can ruin the mood to go out like feeling bloated, especially when you wanted to wear a tight dress you can’t wait to take the tags off.  Don’t stress, there are a handful of foods that can actually help to decrease bloating and aid overall digestive health, letting you to feel your best.

Fruits that have been proven to help digestion and prevent bloating include pineapples, ripe bananas, and papaya. Try mixing them with yogurt, which contains good bacteria and helps digestion.  You can also use oatmeal that contains bran, which is also beneficial for digestive health.

Every nutritionist knows that quinoa is a super food and a great source of magnesium, manganese, phosphorous and potassium. All of these minerals are extremely healthy and have been proven to beat bloat. Water (especially with lemon and warm) helps flush salt from your stomach, which can be one of the main causes of bloating.

To maximize the benefits of these foods and to minimize bloating, try to avoid foods that are high in sodium.  We all know fast food and junk food are notoriously high in sodium, but also be careful of certain salad dressing, sauces, canned soups and cheese. They often have a higher amount of sodium then you might think.

Adding cardio to your day along with eating these foods is sure to make a huge difference in limiting bloat.
