How to De-Stress After Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Elon chapter.

You have been running on two hours of sleep every night and drinking unusually large amounts of coffee for the past week or two. You have been stressing out and cramming a months’ worth of material into one night’s studying session. However, it is finally over. You can take a deep breath and finally relax. The finals season is officially over and you are most likely on your way home in order to begin your Winter break. Here are some good ways to detox and rejuvenate yourself after finals to come back to school with a fresh start!

1. Eat a Good Meal

You have been up late in the library studying for the past week or so and you have most likely been getting to-go meals from the dining hall or ordering take out. You have probably been stressed eating cookies and chips in order to keep yourself awake. Now you can finally treat yourself with a nice meal at your favorite restaurant or your favorite home cooked meal at home.

2. Watch Netflix

That show that you have been dying to start or the one you had to take a break from to study, you can start watching again. With all your new free time you can binge watch a new series without feeling guilty that you are wasting time. You can finally relax without worrying about the million other things you have to do.

3. Get Ready for the Holidays

If you’re like me, then shopping always puts you in a good mood. Whether you are shopping for things for yourself or others, it is very therapeutic buying gifts. If your house is not decorated yet, you can also help decorate it which will surely raise your mood by putting you in the Holiday spirit!

4. Spend Time with Family and Friends

What time better than the Holidays to spend time with loved ones? After taking finals, it has been hard to communicate with friends since all of you have been busy studying and have different schedules. Now is the perfect time hang out and catch up.
