Each phase of life has its own peak and here’s how to enjoy them all

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Elon chapter.

Ever heard of the sayings, “I peaked in college?”? “Those were the best 4 years of my life?” Well, I hope you know they are a load of bullsh**. Each stage of life offers something new and exciting and I’m here to tell you how to make the most of each phase of life.

Life is a constant climb. Throughout this time there are many peaks and pits. However, these experiences are what makes the views at the top the most rewarding.

Although I am only a first year student in college, I know the rest of my life will have many amazing “peaks” that I am looking forward to. While also many “pits” I know I will have to overcome. Life is about these different stages of life and each comes with its own challenges and benefits. In my opinion none are better or worse than the other.

I hope while you’re reading this you sit and think about the many stages of your life that have already passed. Maybe you are thrilled your high school years are over, but would you change the memories and experiences you had? Even if you did not have a “successful” 4 years in your mind, that time without a doubt helped shape you into the person you are today. Whether that be knowing you want to push yourself to be a bit more social, explore new hobbies, get better grades, hit the gym a few times a week, or you’re completely happy with your experience, be thankful for what you accomplished and overcame. Without these life experiences, you would not know how to prepare yourself for the next chapter of your life.

This is how I have learned the importance of truly living in the moment. With this being said, awaiting and being excited for the future is great! It is this drive that makes these experiences worthwhile. Although, the future is full of the unknown which seems quite terrifying, with that fear also comes excitement of the adventures and opportunities heading your way.

I want you to live knowing that some of your fondest memories have not happened yet. Live knowing you still haven’t met some of the people that are going to change your life for the better. Live knowing you can always change your path no matter your age. Live without fear holding you back, and most importantly, live without any regrets.
