Fresh New Face to the Tritons Men's Basketball TeamBy October 11, 2012 - 9:29pm This year, Eckerd College brings a new player to the Sunshine State Conference, a 6-foot-5-inch freshman from Lakeland, Florida, Jerrick Stevenson. After getting many different offers from schools like Gramblin State University, Lynn University and Virginia Military Institute, he chose Eckerd. Jerrick says he chose the Tritons as his new family because he likes both the coaching style that Tom Ryan and Kendrick Wilson provide and the players that are on the team. Stevenson says Eckerd also offered an opportunity for a great education with unique, small class sizes and a great location. READ MORE |

Campus Fashionista: Allegra SignorinoBy May 11, 2012 - 11:14pm We couldn't help but make one of our very own staff writers, Allegra, a campus fashionista. Allegra's refreshingingly colorful wardrobe and constant enthusiasm make her one of our favorite style icons. And even though she claims to only dress up during "office hours"--after 5 p.m. sweats are fair game--Allegra's impeccable style can hardly be overlooked. So, why don’t you describe your style?: "Classy, modest, tasteful, colorful, very colorful, fun, lots of floral accents, that’s probably it." READ MORE |

Campus Fashionista: Jasmine SouleBy April 26, 2012 - 12:28pm I got to sit down with Senior Jasmine Soule this week while she was volunteering at Friends of Strays, the local animal shelter here in St. Pete. When notified she had been nominated, Jasmine laughed, “Me? Fashionista? I'm not that fashionable!” For such an “unfashionable person,” Jasmine provided some great insight into her fashion choices. Her fun and accessible look is just one reason why we think Jasmine is quite qualified for the "fashionista" title. READ MORE |

Cameron Lucas: One Fabulous FashionistoBy April 24, 2012 - 11:05pm Fresh off of his run in the Eckerd theater’s production of “Dark Play,” and hard at work on the cabaret premiere of the new musical theater troupe “Hat’s Off,” Freshman Cameron Lucas is a wildly talented performer. He also has a style that is all his own. I was able to sit down with this week’s fashionista (or fashionisto, if you would prefer) to talk about his wonderful fashion sense. It was full of laughs and talk of his favorite things. How would you describe your personal style? “I don’t know. I like button downs. I like to be smart, but casual at the same time. Gay, casual, prep and diva.” [Laughs] READ MORE |

Briana Ballard: The Toughest Girl We KnowBy April 11, 2012 - 10:44pm Senior Briana Ballard is a founding member, and current captain, of the EC Sirens, our women’s rugby team. When Briana helped to found the team her freshman year the team did not play a single game. In her second year they played one game, against UCF, and got “demolished”. By Briana’s junior year, however, the EC Sirens joined the Orange Blossom Conference and won the entire conference. They have been undefeated since last spring. They won the conference again this year and were able to go to the Rugby South Championship in Alabama. Though their undefeated streak ended at the Championship, Briana says the experience of coming so far was rewarding and worth it. READ MORE |
