In a world where technology is everywhere and forms part of our daily routines, it is hard to pick a favourite item. Many would say it’s their phone, but in my case I love taking pictures and capturing moments. For that matter, I’m going to go for my Canon D700, which is always hanging around my arm, ready to capture different views of our beautiful cathedral or how the cherry blossoms take over my college with pink.
The reason behind my love for my camera is that it’s very flexible since it is a reflex camera: I can change the lens to what best fits the scene I want to capture. I also love that you can turn around the screen and take selfies with it, which is very useful when I’m with friends.
As a massive fan of Instagram, the camera has helped me to go from scrappy photos to more detailed images, but I’m still such an amateur. As a newbie photographer, I love how I always learn something new about the camera and the diverse features it has. As I have a YouTube channel it also enables me to film my life and vlog about life in Durham as well as talking to myself, which is always funny. My camera is always there for me and that’s why it’s my favourite piece of technology.
