Name: Katherine Congleton

1. What is your year/hometown/major?

I'm a sophomore from Carmel, CA, and I'm studying public policy with minors in education and political science.

2. Favorite song at the moment and why:

Currently obsessed with "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore, because I can never get enough Goodwill sweaters...ever.

3. Best memory from freshman year:

Probably a pretty common response, but seeing Austin Rivers drop that buzzer beater against UNC. Dancing around the common room, then later around the bonfire chanting GTHC...it was then that I thought to myself, This is why I went to Duke. The whole campus was united that night in the same joy and passion and celebration, and it was infectious. Even when I was almost crushed by the crowd meeting the team behind Cameron.

4. Most prized possession:

Buster Posey autographed jersey. Don't know how I managed to get it, but if you have any idea who that is, you'll understand why I value it so much.

5. On your Duke bucket list:

Black tent, climb Baldwin, have President Broadhead recognize me, go to Asheville, wear a Line Monitor jacket...but, honestly, I don't have a real bucket list. I have goals, but I try to live life as it happens, taking adventures where they come instead of trying to plan out life the way I think it should go. The best days I've had have been those I never would have imagined.

6. If you were a type of ice cream, which would you be?

Cherry's Garcia. It's classic, and I'm kind of an old soul.

7. What inspires you?

My religion. Having a higher power to fall back on, and a continuing future to believe in, gives me hope for a better life ahead and helps me move forward in my aspirations. And having music around definitely adds inspiration, too.

8. Dream vacation destination:

Seattle, because I'm in love with rain and coffee shops. Preferably, sitting in coffee shops in the rain.

9. Something people would be surprised to learn about you...

Clint Eastwood was mayor of my hometown, and I went to school with his daughters.

10. What current trend do you wish would just die?

If we could get rid of all high-heeled shoes, I wouldn't exactly complain.

11. What's the most embarrassing song on your iPod?

No shame, I love High School Musical...
