1. Best part of Duke so far?
I love being submerged in a place where there is so much diversity. I’ve learned so much. Everyone here is different and talented in different ways. Coming from a small town, I’ve never encountered this many cultures and ethnicities. Here, it’s the whole world fit into a small campus.
2. Worst part of Duke so far?
I don’t like having to deal with the classes that are really more than one class like Chemistry. In Chem, there’s lecture, lab, writing workshop, and discussion and they require a pre lab and a post lab, but it’s technically only one class.
3. If you woke up in the middle of nowhere with only the clothes on your back, what would you do?
Find a phone, and call my mom.
4. If you were in the Hunger Games, how long would you last?
You know at the beginning when everyone runs to the center towards the Cornucopia? I would die before that. I would fall in the water and drown.
5. Most embarrassing moment?
Junior year, I was walking through the cafeteria with a friend. I really wanted nachos so I was pulling her arm, basically dragging her to the food line. She slipped and fell so I ended up falling on top of her, and then we were just lying on the floor like we done done it.
6. What are you most involved in at Duke?
Defmo, which is a multicultural dance group dedicated to representing different styles of dance from around the world. It’s short for Defining Movement and its goal is to bring acceptance among the students at duke. We do some styles like hip hop, contemporary, and tap, but we also mix in dances from different cultures. Besides academics, this is where I spend most of my time. It’s really like being a part of one big family.
7. What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I was voted best dressed in high school.
8. Describe yourself in three words.
#1 Campus Cutie.
9. If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why?
The United Kingdom because I’ve always wanted to visit London, and British accents give me life.
