Hey, Dragons! Now that the days are warming up and sunshine graces us throughout the early evening hours, it’s time to get out of the house and get moving! For some of us, that can mean a relaxing walk to the Art Museum or an hour on the treadmill at the DAC. For others, that may mean taking an hour or two out of our days to hit up our favorite workouts at the studio. When I’m heading out to my favorite training spots for a hard workout, this is what I bring along in my gym bag.

The Bag: My favorite Nike duffle in black. In it, you’ll find anything and everything that’ll bring me to the next phase of my busy day. Some of my must-haves include:

  • My leather Everlast boxing gloves which are perfect for kicking a** at my favorite kickboxing workout studio in Center City.
  • An extra tank top so I don’t have to wear my sweaty one on the subway ride home.
  • Nike’s Air Zoom Structure Running shoes, because they have the perfect level of cushioning and support for my feet.
  • TIGI Pro ‘Day 2’ dry shampoo, which is really useful to freshen up with if I don’t have time to shower between the end of my workout class and my nighttime plans.
  • A 30-pack of scünci hair elastics to keep my hair off my sweaty face and out of my eyes. Nothing compares to the panic of realizing you’ve forgotten to bring a hair tie as you begin running and doing a circuit of burpees and pushups, all while your hair is in your face and you can’t see anything.
  • My favorite face wash and rosewater spray are absolutely necessary for me to not feel like a sweaty mess after class. Plus, it’s terrible to not wash your face right after a workout. I’d rather spare myself the breakouts if I can!
