This upcoming school year, I get the opportunity to study abroad in Norwich, England and I could not be more excited. For the longest time, I have had a bucket list of places and countries to visit and I intend to cross some of them off starting next semester. Here are the top six places I can’t wait to travel to.
Madrid, Spain
Throughout high school, my Spanish teacher would assign us projects that we completed on the Spanish-speaking country of our choice. I always drifted towards Spain and now the country is at the top of my list. First place I want to visit: Plaza Mayor
Paris, France
My grandmother was born in France and as a result gave my dad and his siblings French names, so France has always been a place I’ve wanted to travel to. I once had a layover in the Paris airport, but since I didn’t get to see any other part of the country, I’m dying to go back. First place I want to visit: The Louvre
Salzburg, Austria
When my sister was in high school, she took a trip to Austria and had an amazing time. My parents also went there on their honeymoon and my mom always talks about their food. I can’t imagine not visiting while I’m abroad. First place I want to visit: Any place associated with The Sound of Music
Florence, Italy
I have been to Italy before, but only traveled to Rome. As such, I would love the opportunity to visit another Italian city and of course, eat some amazing pasta and gelato. First place I want to visit: The Uffizi
Copenhagen, Denmark
I had a roommate this year who studied abroad in Copenhagen and absolutely loved it. She had a Denmark flag in our room and would tell me stories about cool things she had done. I’m hoping to get the chance to see some of the places she mentioned. First place I want to visit: Superkilen
London, England
I’m lucky because my program will spend three weeks in London at the beginning of the semester and I can’t wait to explore the city. There are so many great places to visit and I just hope I have time to see them all. First place I want to visit: King’s Cross to see Platform 9 ¾ from Harry Potter
There are so many more places and countries that I want to visit and I’m grateful that I will have the opportunity to do so. I can’t wait to experience new cultures and explore Europe!
