This is Us has to be the most emotional rollercoaster of a show I have ever seen. Every single episode tugs at my heartstrings in a way I thought no one or anything could. So here are some thoughts that I know everyone has while watching the show.
1. Maybe, I shouldn’t watch this right now. Am I emotionally stable enough?
- It takes a lot out of me, emotionally, to watch this show. I have to set aside at least 2 hours, so I can watch the show and then recover from it.
2. I’ll start it and finish it later.
- Maybe it’ll be less emotionally taxing for me, if I break the episode up into chunks.
3. Hahaha nope! I’m watching the whole thing right now—homework can wait.
- Homework is not nearly as important as learning the cause of Jack’s death.
4. Why is Jack the best father/husband/person on the planet?
- He actually can do no wrong! How does he do it?
5. I’m not going to cry this episode
- That’s a lie every single time.
6. Just kidding, let the sobbing commence.
- I don’t know how they do it, but every single episode makes me audibly cry so all my roommates can hear me. Oops!
7. How are the child actors as talented as the adult ones?
- Every actor and actress is so compelling to watch, and this is one of the many reasons why the show is so critically acclaimed.
8. I want Randall and Beth’s relationship.
- They have the best couple dynamic I’ve ever seen.
9. What does all this mean?!
- They always throw in some kind of twist that 1. without fail always makes me cry and 2. I somehow never see coming.
10. I can’t believe I have to wait a whole week for another episode.
