Khalayha is a bubbly, beautiful, sophomore at Delaware State University. Without a doubt living up to her potential, majoring in communications with a concentration in TV, Radio, and Film.
Depending on what day of the week it is, you may catch her with a different hair style! Have you ever met someone who can rock any do? Well meet Khalayha! As a successful Youtuber, she is constantly working! Born and raised in New York City, Khalayha is bringing her talents and personality to DSU.
Khalayha would love to be her own boss as a full time Youtuber or even producing and hosting her own talk show in the future. Everything takes time and work, and she knows it, “ Some things I am currently doing to excel in the communications field is communicating! Networking is definitely a major key. Any opportunity thrown my way I’m taking, whether that be an extra in a music video, a character in a short film, hosting programs at school, or even interviews like this one! Partaking in things like these allows me to work with other people who share interest similar to mine.”
Everyone knows that Youtube knows everything all you have to do is search the engine bar, so make sure you’re subscribing to Khalayha’s channel! “So I’ve actually wanted to start a youtube channel for years! Since I was in middle school to be exact. I always watched youtube videos in my spare time and eventually I became inspired by successful youtubers such as Jayla Koriyan, Amber Martin and Keesha Kaylee.” Khalayha’s focuses on inspiring others in and out of college. She understands that college isn’t an option for everyone, but she wants to be able to show that there is enjoyment and so much growth in the process of it all!
“If I don’t learn anything else during my next 2 1/2 years at DSU I’ll learn who I am as a person. I feel thats one of the MOST important things you gain from going to college” she said.
Khalayha’s subscribers are what really keep her motivated to keep going, comments make her day and remind her why she started! She loves knowing that she can inspire people to go to college, and it pushes her to work hard knowing that people look up to her.
College can get down right hard, and Khalayha has a message for you! “College can get very overwhelming; trying to obtain a high GPA, getting involved in multiple organizations, maintaining relationships at school as well as back home, all while growing and changing as a person. With so much to do often we forget what we’re even doing it for. “
