What to Get Your Boyfriend for Christmas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.

Everyone knows that boys are a nightmare to shop for when it comes to Christmas presents. Unlike girls, boys are not easily amused with jewelry or clothes, so us girls have to work harder to find something that is both practical and fun to open. So here are a few go-to gifts if you are struggling to find something for your special guy this holiday season.

Tickets

Look around for tickets to a band he likes, or a game to watch his favorite team. This is something he is sure to appreciate, and it gives you an excuse for a fun date. But the best part about this gift is that he gets to enjoy it twice: once when he opens it on Christmas, and again when you attend the event.

Jerseys

Sometimes supporting your favorite sports team or player can break your bank. Getting your boyfriend a jersey or t-shirt is a gift he would want but maybe wouldn’t buy for himself, because of the price. This also shows him that you pay attention to what he likes.

Gadgets

Get your boy a grown-up toy. There are all kinds of affordable but fun devices that would be a cool surprise for your guy. Amazon Alexa and Google Home would give him something to play around with and also is super useful and practical once you have it set up. Fitbits are cheap and are great for guys that like to work out. Drones are the ultimate guy toy. There are all different kinds of sizes and prices to fit your budget, but no matter the cost it is guaranteed to give your boyfriend hours of fun.

Make Something

Making something doesn’t have to require a lot of money or talent; it just needs to be something personal that he can keep and will remind him of you. It could be as simple as a homemade card. Other easy and cute gifts include mix CDs composed of songs that make you think of him, framed pictures of the two of you, or his favorite homemade dessert. He will appreciate the effort and thought you put into the gift, and he will also love it because it is from you.
