The Weather Keeps Changing, But Your Outfits Don’t Have to

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.

It’s that time of the year again. The dead of winter is behind us, and we are thankful Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow. But, as we anticipate May flowers and Spring showers, what does that leave us with? The dreaded transition time between winter and spring.

At the beginning of the week, it’ 65 degrees and sunny here in Greencastle, Ind. Girls look flirty in sundresses that have been hibernating in their closets for a couple of months; boys are even sporting their khaki checkered shorts. But, don’t get your hopes up, DePauw. By the end of the week, there’s frost on the ground, and the campus goes back to being a sea of North Face’s and pea coats. So, how have women at DePauw been surviving the awkward tango with Greencastle weather? All across campus, girls have been facing the unpredictable weather with a trusty cardigan and a fun scarf. The cardigan-scarf duo is not only perfect for any weather, but also perfect on all DePauw women!

Emily Welch heads to breakfast at the Hub after an early morning class in East College. With a lightweight cardigan and multicolored scarf, it’s a perfect outfit for an unexpectedly warm day.

Addie McDonnell pairs a brightly patterned scarf with a muted sweater and Hunter boots as she heads out into the rain.

Lizzie Hineman hangs out before class in a pullover sweater and a textured, two-toned green scarf. Paired with her favorite leggings, she’s ready for a comfortable day of classes.

Maddi Vering faces a day of meetings and punch-card events wearing a floral, cotton scarf and a cropped sweater. This outfit is not only fashionable, but also appropriate for all events across campus.
