This week’s Her Campus Profile is Summer Asad! Summer is a sophomore here at DePauw. She is involved with lacrosse, Kappa Kappa Gamma, ITAP, and is currently in the process of starting an honors society. We are so excited to meet with her!
Her Campus: Hey Summer, thank you for meeting with Her Campus today!
Summer Asad: No problem, it’s great being here.
HC: So we heard that you have an on-campus internship.
SA: Yeah! My on-campus internship is with National Society of Leadership and Success.
HC: Oh cool! So what do you do for that?
SA: Well, I’m going on a retreat to Manhattan, New York City for the training conference, and as soon as I get back I’ll be able to start an Honor Society on campus. Then, after it’s established, I’ll serve as president.
HC: That’s fantastic! So what will the group be doing at DePauw?
SA: It is an Honors Society to train leaders; their mission statement is, “Building Leaders Who Make a Better World.”
HC: That’s really interesting; I’m sure you’re so excited for that!
SA: I really am, it’ll be a fantastic opportunity.
HC: When do you think this will all be happening?
SA: So I think my goal is by the second semester activities fair to have it all set up, and basically that’s when I’m planning on starting the Honors Society.
HC: Alright, that sounds great! We’ll be sure to look out for it. Is there anything else you’re excited for this coming year?
SA: I’m totally excited for lacrosse, excited to beat up on some other teams. You get so tired of only playing your own team; it’ll be a nice and much needed change to play others.
HC: Definitely! Well, thank you so much for meeting with us Summer! Have a fantastic semester and we’ll be sure to keep a look out for the honors society in the spring!
