Spring Trend Alert: Mini Skirts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.

Spring is approaching quickly and that means it’s time to put those pants and sweaters away and break out spring’s hottest trends; one of those being the mini-skirt! That’s right, the mini-skirt is back and being worn in more ways than ever before. Whether it be denim, suede, leather, fringe or crochet, the mini-skirt is sure to take this season by storm.

Suede is also another huge trend right now, and the perfect material for mini-skirts. A benefit of mini-skirts is they can be styled so many different ways. Spring has unpredictable weather. It can be 50 degrees and rainy one day and 70 degrees and sunny the next. For those chillier days, pair your mini-skirt with the ever-popular long sleeve turtleneck. For the warmer days, grab a deep, plunging neckline tank to keep yourself cool.

The classic denim mini-skirt is back! What’s great about the denim mini-skirt is that it can be dressed up or down. Pair the skirt with some fun, colorful heels and a flouncy tank for a night out or wear a casual V-neck and comfortable wedges for a Sunday brunch.

Who doesn’t love wearing leather? It instantly adds edge and sophistication to any outfit. The intricate design of the black leather skirt adds texture to the outfit and perfectly complements the trendy off-the-shoulder white top. The army green leather skirt is very unique and looks great with a black crop top for those warmer spring days.

Crochet and fringe are also two great ways to add texture and pop to any outfit. The white crochet skirt gives off a light and airy feel, which is supplemented nicely with the rough and casual denim top. A fringe mini skirt is great for a night out dancing. Pair it with some trendy strappy heels and you’ll be looking flawless.
