Keep Calm and get your Spring Break Body On

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.

Spring break is days away, the weather is getting warmer and your days are getting longer. Your mind is ready to soak up the sun, but is your bikini body ready? Walking to Lilly in negative degree weather was just not an option, but ladies you no longer have that as an excuse. Lose your winter weight the right way, and feel comfortable in your bikini this spring break!

Get inspired

Sure the girls in the new Victoria Secret’s swimsuit catalog seem genetically freaky and are probably photoshopped to appear perfect, but looking at a good cover model can be great motivation.

Find a workout partner

Sometimes you just need that sorority sister or friend to drag you off your futon and head to the gym instead.

Find a workout class on campus

Working out should be fun! The Lilly center offers different fitness classes to help you burn those extra-unwanted calories. Choose from: ropes, yoga, hip hop fitness, palliates, water aerobics, indoor cycling, turbo kick, and power yoga.

Small diets can make a big difference

Drink water instead of sugary drinks, and yes that includes the vodka-soda you drink religiously every weekend. Try adding a slice of lime or 100% juice to your glass of water if you want a little bit of flavor.

Midterms equal late nights and heavy snacking

It’s important to cut back on solid fats even if Marvins is just a phone call away at 1:30am when you’re only halfway done with your paper that’s due the next day. Stock up on fruits and veggies for the next two weeks, so whenever your late night cravings begin you’ll always have a second option to turn too.

Remember, it takes time to look good

You might not see the result you want to see in just two weeks, but don’t give up on your workout plan and healthy habits. That spring break/summer bod will be worth it in the end!
