Casey Nesius ’14: Panhellenic VP of Recruitment

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.

Recruitment is done! While New Members are proudly wearing their letters and actives are thrilled to have new sisters, Her Campus wants to take the time to thank Casey Nesius, the force behind DePauw’s 2014 Formal Recruitment. It couldn’t have happened without her! We sat down with Casey to learn a little more about the intense (yet fun!) process of Formal Recruitment.

Year: Senior

Major:  Computer Science

Hometown: Rensselaer, Indiana

Favorite spot on DePauw’s campus: CLCD Office :)

HC: Well, congrats on an amazing recruitment! How does it feel to finally be done?

Casey Nesius: It feels fantastic! This was by far the most rewarding experience I have ever had and it was such a great feeling to watch the Panhellenic community come together to welcome the new members with open arms. It is truly an amazing feeling to be a part of something so gratifying.

HC: What made you decide to run for Panhellenic VP of Recruitment?

CN: During last year’s Formal Recruitment I was a Rho Gamma, and I truly enjoyed being a guide for the PNMs through the Formal Recruitment process. I was also able to see how recruitment works from the Panhellenic side, and I knew right away that I wanted to continue my involvement with recruitment. Being already disaffiliated, I wanted to continue to recruit to our Greek community as a whole, and I felt that with my perspective as a Rho Gamma, as well as a chapter member, I had a lot to contribute to Panhellenic Recruitment at DePauw.

HC: What was your favorite part of recruitment weekend?

CN: My absolute favorite part of recruitment weekend was Sunday (Preference Round and Bid Day). We could finally see all of the semester’s hard work coming together and I was beginning to realize just how successful Panhellenic Recruitment 2014 was going to be.

HC: What advice do you have for new members?

CN: Cherish the next three and a half years of your college career. Making the decision to join a Panhellenic Chapter is life-changing and I encourage you to take advantage of every opportunity!

Thank you again Casey for all your hard work! And congrats to DePauw’s Greek chapters on all getting amazing new pledge classes. Her Campus can’t wait to see how much fun you will all have.
