The Hunger Games.

Akeelah and The Bee.

The Princess Diaries.

Legally Blonde.

The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants.

And on March 17th: Beauty and The Beast.

What do all these movies have in common? A strong female lead.

We’re living in a society that needs to have more strong females that set examples for not only everyone but especially the upcoming generations. It’s so crucial that we show just how inspiring a woman is and how women can do everything a man can do.

National Treasure.

Taken.

Saving Private Ryan.

All movies that had a male lead, but you know what? A woman could have done the same a man did in those movies. A woman could have found the National Treasure, a woman could have been a former CIA operative that sets out to save her daughter, and a woman definitely could have been a soldier.

Now I’m not saying that these movies turned out bad because a woman wasn’t a lead in them, but I am saying a woman can do just as much as a man can, and it’s about time we start showing it.

To instill a “strong women” thought into younger generations will provide such great insight to show just how hard it has been for women in the years past. It will enable them to show just how strong, successful, intelligent, and hardworking a woman can be.

Turn your fears into love; which is exactly what Emma Watson will show you as Belle in the new movie Beauty and The Beast out in theaters March 17th.
