The royal baby’s name has officially been announced!

 

Kensington Palace’s Twitter account announced the baby’s name and title today. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles. The baby will be known as His royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.”

 

The duke and Duchess welcomed their third child on Monday, April 23rd. Kate Middleton gave birth to her son in the private wing of St Mary’s Hospital, London, United Kingdom.

 

Both Kate and William stood outside the hospital proudly with their new born to the awaiting fans and press outside at approximately 5:50 pm.

 

Kensington Palace also took to Twitter to announce the princes arrival, they reported the new royal member was 8lbs 7oz and was delivered at 1101hrs.

 

In another tweet, the palace posted the royal families reaction to the birth. It said the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Whales, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince harry have all “been informed and they are delighted with the news.”

 

Both of the new arrivals siblings, Prince George, aged 4 and Princess Charlotte, aged 3 visited their brother in St Mary’s Hospital, London.

 

The new baby is fifth in line to the throne, knocking his uncle Prince Harry to sixth in line.
