Struggles of Having a Android in College

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Davidson chapter.

I have always had an Android and loved it. However, after coming to Davidson I have definitely been struggling. Through my year of having an Android in college, I have had to make many adjustments. These are some of the many struggles I face every day:

1. No one else has an Android charger

You have to bring your charger everywhere with you, and if you forget you are out of luck. There have been numerous times where I had to walk all the way back to my room from the library, just to get my charger.

2. You can’t Facetime with your friends

All of your friends around you are face timing each other, and you are just sitting in the corner talking on the phone with your mom.

3. You can’t be in group chats with your friends

Group chats between iPhones and Android usually do not work very well, so you end up not included in the group chat or having to use the annoying GroupMe.

4. They don’t make cute and trendy cases for your phone

There are a very limited option of cases for Android phones, and while your friends get trendy and new cases, you’re stuck with the most basic boring case in existence.

5. Everyone makes fun of you for having an android

I hear the words, “ewwww you have a Android at least once a month. People are constantly trying to convince me to get an iPhone because it is so much better and cooler…..

Despite these struggles, I wouldn’t trade my Android for anything, especially not an iPhone.
