11 Alternative Questions for “How Was Abroad”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Davidson chapter.

If, like me, you spent the fall semester “studying” abroad, chances are you are sick of being asked, “how was abroad?” There isn’t really a good way to answer it without demeaning your entire, probably life-changing, experience into just a couple of words, which is hard given how unique everyone’s time overseas really is and how much I’m sure we all want to share what we learned. So here are a few alternative questions:

1.     Where did you go abroad? (A bit of a doozy, but important to know!)

2.     Would you rather have hands for feet or feet for hands?

3.     What was the food like? Did you eat anything totally weird?

4.     What was your fondest memory?

5.     Did you get to travel? Where did you go?

6.     Are you going to the basketball game this week?

7.     What are some of the friends you made from other schools like?

8.     Aren’t you happy to be swamped with work at Davidson again?

9.     Where is your favorite place in the city you studied? Do you have a picture of it?

10.  Do you have any interesting souvenirs?

11.   And finally, would you do it all again?

So to answer your first question, abroad was great! And as for the last, I would in a heartbeat.
