10 Moments from “Elf” Guaranteed to Make You Smile

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Davidson chapter.

While you’re studying for finals, writing papers, and giving last presentations, it can be hard to remember to smile and take in the happiness of the holiday season. To help out with that, I’ve done extensive research, (read: I’ve watched a ton of gifs) to find the absolute best moments from Elf to make you smile and laugh. So don’t be a cotton-headed-ninny-muggins, take a break!

1. Remember Mr. Narwhal? It’s impossible not to smile at his utter cuteness. I bet you’ll read this gif in his voice too.

2. When Buddy gets a present “for that special someone” and doesn’t get the innuendo.

Bless him.

3. Buddy’s to-do list with his family.

Don’t tell me you can’t relate to the cookie dough part…

4. Whenever Buddy hears the “S” word…

Literally, me when I was four years old.

5. This whole exchange.

6. Buddy takes the four main Elf food groups very seriously. Say them with me now children, CANDY, CANDY CANES, CANDY CORN, AND SYRUP.

7. Um, the mailroom scene is everything, no?

You only wish you could bust moves like that.

8. If you want an accurate summary of Buddy and Jovie’s relationship, here it is.

And can we talk about how cute Zooey Deschanel is as a blonde?

9. Oh, is that you, Tyrion Lannister? Still feisty as ever.

And he’s a children’s author, no doubt.

10. The moment when you wish everyone in the world were like Buddy.

Happy Holidays, everyone.
