So I’m suppose to be in love with Christian Grey because why exactly?
In literature, there are knights in shining armor … and then there are nightmares in grey neckties. We could say Christian Grey is the hype in Fifty Shade of Grey, a story about the ties that bind (both literally and figuratively) a laid back business owner who takes his dark past and turns it into a rope infested, painful, sexy dark Christian Grey.
So Anastasia, does she live up to the hype?
I know you all would like to know who is on the receiving end of the handcuffs and silk ties. Lone behold our innocent, 21 year old, damsel in distress, Anastasia Steele. She might just have what it takes to turn our complicated Christian Grey, into the boyfriend kind who likes to cuddle up on the couch to some Netflix and popcorn. Instead of hitting the hardware store for zip ties and rope.
So they had to meet somewhere, where did this start?
No, they didn’t meet on Tinder. Like all kick ass love stories Anastasia and Christian were only one person away form not even meeting. Our heroine, a WSU senior, only met the rich entrepreneur when she had to fill in for her best friend Kate, who happened to be the WSU campus newspaper writer. Kate ends up sick the day of the interview which lead to our damsel in distress to fill in for her, and meet Mr. Grey.
Where does he plan to use these “things”? Well the red room of pain of course! Anastasia is in for a complete surprise when Mr. Grey shows her this extra room. What he refers to as his “play room” ends up being the room with some of the most erotic scenes in the entire series.
So how does anyone get into this godly Red Room you may ask?
You’ll have to sign a non-disclosure agreement, that’s normal, is it not? (yes that is sarcasm)
So does the sequel really take off how the prequel ended?
Fifty Shades Darker almost immediately takes off where it was left off. Anastasia breaks off from Christians deviating contract and subsequent relationship, leaving Christian not only heartbroken, but determined to win back the love of his life.
Is the sequel really that different that I need to spend $13 at the theatre?
Yes and no. Christian, who cant live without Anastasia, is quick to tell her he can’t live a day without her. Thus, making it his life mission, to prove his worth (no were not talking money worth here people). Following that large chunk of movie Christian promises to tone down his, uh, intense? — hobby of his. Then just your imagination take it from there.

The drop dead beautiful 63- year-old actress plays the beautiful mistress, know to Ana as “Mrs. Robinson.” Elena was Christians past lover and has seemed to put quite the mark on Mr. Grey. Not only is she a past lover, but also a friend of the family. I’m sure that gives you enough information to make some inferences on how the movie will play out…
Is there anything else one should prepare themselves for?
Well if you ignore the fact that you’re basically watching soft porn (rated R), it was promised that there would be a little more “story” and adventure then its previous movie. Be prepared for a whirlwind of a past lover—-not Elena—- and a crucial life-threatening, yes someone’s life is hanging by a thread, event. This movie could have you melting in your seat by the time those credits start to roll.
