Your New Favorite Jewelry Line is here…and it’s Based in Boulder

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CU Boulder chapter.

I had the opportunity to talk with the owner of Kingston Grace Style, a chic new jewelry line based in Boulder. We had the chance to talk about her upcoming plans for the brand, her favorite pieces from the collection and all of the trends in the jewelry world that we should look out for this fall! Tia really is the ultimate Boulder girl, and once you see her line you will be in love!

Q: Tell me about yourself? Where are you from? and any hobbies?

Me! I grew up on the waters in Minnesota, but moved here in high School so I would call Boulder home! I enjoy an Americano in the mornings and a fun Happy Hour with the girls. When I’m not in my studio, I am usually running, hiking or traveling. I adore Mexico, a glass of wine and a good laugh. But, most important I love being a mom to my beautiful kids.

Q: How did you get into jewelry making?

I have always loved style and fashion and a good accessory for a pop. Jewelry was my pop. Growing up both my grandmothers had a love for jewelry with two very different styles and collections. One loved the southwestern look with turquoise everything  and the  other  loved gold and jewels. My sisters and I would love to play dress up with their pieces. It was then, I fell in love! jewelry makes me happy! The journey started with metal-smithing school and after my first class I was hooked. There was no looking back.

Q: What do you love most about the work that you do?

I love being able to create. There are no rules, no boundaries. The work has taught me to slow down, relax and enjoy the process. Being able to manipulate and mold raw metals and gems into everyday pieces is so gratifying.

Q: Where do you get inspiration from your pieces?

I find inspiration all around: in words, my kids, fashion. I am very inspired by beachy and fun looks.

Q: What are some of your favorite pieces currently from your line?

My warrior shield necklace was one of my first pieces and has a special meaning to me. It is my all time favorite. I have customized it for so many special people with stones and engravings. I also love my sticks and stones ring. They are simple with a pop of color and an amazing stacker. Who doesn’t love a set of rings that you can stack together? I always say the more the merrier!

Q: How would you describe your brand?

I wanted to combine meaning, message and beauty in everyday wearable pieces. I love a dainty, elegant and classic design, a jeweled sparkle and a pop of unexpected color. All this with a powerful word or phrase to give one an extra boost of strength, of love, of gratitude and of conviction while wearing KGS. We aim for making pieces that will look beautiful at the beach AND a fancy dinner.

Q: Do you see any big trends in jewelry this fall that we should look out for?

Totally! Bar rings, bigger stones, colors and experimenting with different textures. Pieces that will be super in for fall will be dainty and feminine with an edge. Dainty pieces will always be timeless which is why I focus so much of my line on creating those kind of pieces.
