3 Margs to Enjoy for National Margarita Day!

National Margarita Day!

Hey friends! For those of you who don’t know February 22nd is national margarita day!

If you love margs as much a Ross, than national marg day is your day.

In honor of that I’ve put together a list of 3 easy recipes for you to enjoy your your gals or bros,

So grab your pitchers, salt, and lime it’s time for some yummy margaritas!

 

Classic Margarita

Ingredients

  • 3 cups tequila, silver or reposado

  • 2 cups Cointreau (orange liqueur)

  • 1.5 cups freshly-squeezed lime juice

  • optional: agave nectar or simple syrup for sweetening

  • optional: lime wedges and salt for rimming the glasses\

Directions

  1. If you would like salt-rimmed glasses, begin by running a lime slice (the juicy part) around the top rim of a glass.  Fill a shallow bowl with salt, and dip the rim in the salt until it is covered with your desired amount of salt.  Set aside.

  2. Add tequila, lime juice and Cointreau to a pitcher and stir until combined.  Taste, and if you would like it to be sweeter, stir in a half teaspoon of agave or simple syrup at a time until the mix reaches your desired level of sweetness.

  3. Fill glass with ice.  Pour in the margarita mixture over the rocks.  Serve immediately, garnished with an extra lime wedge if desired.

Skinny Coconut Margarita

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces lite coconut milk (from the can)

  • 3 ounces tequila blanco

  • 1 1/2 ounces triple sec

  • 8 ounces coconut water

  • Fresh lime wedge, to serve

Directions

  1. In a shaker, combine the coconut milk, tequila blanco, triple sec and coconut water. Shake until combined.

  2. Pour into cocktail glasses with ice.

  3. Serve with a lime wedge.

Watermelon Margarita

Instructions

  • 3 cups watermelon – seeds removed and frozen for at least 30 minutes

  • 1/2 cup tequila

  • 1/4 cup simple syrup

  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice

  • Lime wedge and sanding sugar, for rims

  • Watermelon wedges, for garnish

 

Directions

Cut out a small wedge from a lime and run the wedge along the rims of your serving glasses.

2.   Pour the sanding sugar into a shallow bowl and dip each rim into the sugar.  Set the glasses aside.

3.   Place the frozen watermelon into a blender.  Add the tequila, simple syrup and lime juice.  Blend for 15 to 20 seconds.

4.   Pour into serving glasses and garnish with a watermelon wedge on each rim.
