When you think of TJ Maxx, you think of the perfect spot for an older, white suburban soccer mom who also loves HomeGoods. Well, at least this was how I envisioned this chain of stores before discovering how amazing it actually is. I can tell you that I love makeup, but I am also in college and ten feet deep in debt already. This is why having a budget is HUGE for me, but feeding my love for makeup is something I can never give up.

While browsing my local outlet, I happened to walk by TJ Maxx and I thought “Why not?” before entering an experience I would’ve never expected. Walking into the store, nothing seemed to pique my interest. Clothes and discounted pursed were the only things that I could see, until I read the sign labeled “Skincare and Cosmetics”. I obviously had to check out what makeup they could have, assuming it’d be a shelf full of off-brand dupes. But once I entered this aisle, I was taken aback by how many items were brand name and SUPER DISCOUNTED.

I could’ve screamed in excitement! Kat Von D, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Lorac, MAC, and so many more brands dressed the shelves of the makeup aisle. Granted, a majority of it was damaged but it was crazy to see what the store actually had in stock. And can we just mention the prices!? I saw Kat Von D Lipsticks for $8 and Anastasia Beverly Hill Lip Kits for only $25, that’s nearly 50% OFF! Before I knew it, I would be doing weekly trips to see what they had in stock!

I am happy to say that my budget and makeup collection are both full and happy. So if you’re shopping with your mom or on a tight pinch for a makeup find, check out TJ Maxx! You’ll be surprised about what you find when you least expect it!
