Warm Drinks for a Cold, Snowy Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cornell chapter.

Who doesn’t love a warm drink on a cold night? Whether you’re looking for something alcoholic or non-alcoholic, HC has the drink for you!

1. The Classic: Hot Apple Cider
Start with as much apple cider or apple juice as you need for your get-together (or for yourself). For every 6 ounces, add a half a shot of Goldschlager and a half shot of rum (of course, alcohol is optional!) Heat, mix well, and serve. Mix it up by substituting some of the liquor suggested with Applejack. Leftovers (if there are any) can then be used in the next recipe….

2. The Creative: Apple Pie Shots
Fill a shot glass half way with vodka. Fill the rest with your leftover cider (hot or cold) and top with whipped cream. Add a dash of cinnamon and enjoy. A little shot goes a long way!

3. The Elegant: Spiked Honey Tea
Shout out to my roomie for this one, who got the recipe from a friend and shared it with me. Purchase Tazo-brand Honeybush tea, or any similar sweeter tea. For every 2 tea bags brewed, add a shot and a half of honey infused or flavored vodka, such as Bee Vodka (regular vodka works fine but honey flavored is best). For extra sweetness, add honey to taste. Great for a girlie get together!

4. The Under-21: Spiced Hot Chocolate
Add your favorite hot chocolate mix to a large mug and add a dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, and a LITTLE BIT of cayenne. Mix well and prepare with milk. Delicious and comforting!
