(Okay, it’s totally not, but it is the best excuse to wear a ridiculous costume.) Everyone has heard of the typical costumes. Sexy nurse, a mouse (Mean Girls shout out!), Mitt Romney. But for those of you who want to stay topical AND school-spirited, here are a few Cornell-themed costumes to make your Halloween a little more… unusual. READ MORE |

Little Shop of AwesomeBy October 21, 2012 - 10:01pm Love good music? Like quirky performances? Just want something to do this weekend? Opening tonight (October 18th) at Risley Theatre is Little Shop of Horrors, a story about a boy on the down-and-out and the man-eating plant that changes his life. Technically, all seats have already been pre-reserved, but trust me: this is a show worth lining up at the stage door to see. READ MORE |

Cooking Off Campus: Apples to ApplesBy September 28, 2012 - 5:32pm As a general rule, I refuse to eat apples unless it’s September or October and they were grown in New York State. This probably makes me a snob. But as those of you from New York know (and those of you not from New York will soon discover) very little can beat the taste of the humble apple in apple season. So carpe diem! And seize some apples, too, because there’s a lot of eating and slicing and picking and baking to be done in the next few weeks. READ MORE |

Adrienne Jackson: Actress ExtraordinaireBy September 19, 2012 - 4:35pm Watching Adrienne Jackson pace back and forth across the stage of the Schwartz Center, wringing her hands and worrying about the crowds outside, you wouldn’t expect to be watching a girl who loves Harry Potter, Stanley Kubrick, and who cries at the same predictable times every time she watches the Lord of the Rings. A favorite of the Schwartz Center (she stars as the lead in Emergence, a collaboration between the Physics department and the Theatre department that plays this weekend), Adrienne is an average Cornellian- just one that spends most of her time being someone else. Cooking Off Campus: September's Sweet SixteenthBy September 16, 2012 - 5:53pm Today is a good day for several reasons: 1. It’s a Sunday. 2. It’s a sunny day. 3. I was actually productive yesterday. 4. I got to sleep in this morning. 5. You all have time to bake, because it’s the weekend. 6. I’m in the middle of eating a loaf of chocolate chip banana bread. 7. I’m going to tell you how to make it. What girl doesn’t love dessert? READ MORE |

Her Campus Loves Bagel Tuesdays!By September 10, 2012 - 10:46am I know you’re all busy, so just a quick tip for you today: Hopefully you’ve all well acquainted with CTB (or, as I tell my parents when they accidentally say CBT or TBC, “just call it Collegetown Bagels!”). The menu is extensive, and the food is yummy. Their bagels are warm and buttery, and they have a great vegetarian selection. I highly recommend the pesto pizza bagel and the Brooklyn breakfast sandwich. One problem. It’s not cheap. At all. A good solution is to recreate the sandwiches at home. After all, it’s not hard to slap some sandwich meat and cheese on a bagel and pop it in the oven so it’s nice and toasty. READ MORE |
