#30: Get heartburn at the Chili Cook-off on the Commons

Thankfully I didn’t get heartburn, but I still was able to eat a ton of chili during Chili Fest! Chili Fest is a one day festival of chili and food galore in the Commons. Each year, different restaurants compete in the Chili Cook-Off for the title of Best Chili in Ithaca. At the end of the day, the winner is announced in different categories such as “Best Veggie Chili,” “Best Aesthetics Presentation,” and of course, the grand title of “Best Meat Chili.”


Now that I’ve gotten to take Intro to Wines (which is another item to check off on my 161 Big Red Ambition List), I was able to try some of the wines the local wineries were selling in the Commons. It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday, even with the atrocious weather!

This year, Razorback BBQ, a restaurant in Ithaca, won Best Meat Chili for the second year in a row with their Smoked Brisket Chili. Here they are accepting their prize:
