Bon Voyage, Juniors!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Conn Coll chapter.

Her Campus Conn Coll has to say “Bon voyage!” to five of our contributing writers for the spring semester. Members of the class of 2014, Marisa Barnard, Chloe Sovinee-Dyroff, Rachel Jerome, Laura Sanderson, and Andrea Hoisington are embarking on exciting trips around the world. We will be keeping tabs on these globe trekking collegiettes on their exhilarating journeys throughout the semester and look forward to updating everyone on their adventures!

Marisa Barnard
Major: Psychology
Minor: Dance and Art History
Destination: Milan, Italy

What are you most looking forward to? I’m really looking forward to traveling, not just around Italy but throughout Europe.
Do you know what classes you’re taking, if so what are they? I’m planning on taking two Psych courses that focus on cross-cultural Psychology, two Art History classes about Italian art, and an intermediate Italian course.
Tell us a fun fact about your international destination. Milan is a fashion capital of the world!
We will miss you so much! What was your favorite part of working with HerCampus this semester? I’d have to say figuring out which nominee is going to be Campus Cutie for the week–awkward because we admit who we secretly like/crush on/admire from afar, yet hilarious. That, and of course becoming friends with all of the girls. I miss you all already!

Chloe Sovinee-Dyroff
Major: Anthropology & Psychology
Destination: London, England

What are you most looking forward to? I’m most excited about being able to travel around the EU while I’m there. Although, I’ve never really been to London before so I’m looking forward to exploring a new place and learning about a new culture. And having a flat with a single room and kitchen isn’t bad either!
Do you know what classes you’re taking, if so what are they? Two anthropology classes and two psych classes but I won’t chose the exact classes until I’m there!!
Tell us a fun fact about your international destination. London has public urinals outside.
We will miss you so much! What was your favorite part of working with HerCampus this semester? My favorite part of working with Her campus this semester was having the opportunity to work with new people and get closer to the people I already knew.

Rachel Jerome

What are you most looking forward to? I’m really excited to meet new people and explore the city of London and travel to other places in Europe. That’s so broad, I know!
Do you know what classes you’re taking, if so what are they? I don’t know exactly what classes I will be taking, but I am going to be at City University, Cass Business School so I will definitely be taking some business courses and I hope to take a consumer behavior course.
Tell us a fun fact about your international destination. One Direction is from England…I am secretly hoping to meet them, but meeting lookalikes would be just as good.
We will miss you so much! What was your favorite part of working with HerCampus this semester? I loved getting to know all the other girls, we really formed a strong bond over the semester and I miss everyone so much already!!

What are you most looking forward to? Outdoor adventure! I can’t wait to take advantage of all the amazing outdoor activities they have available there- hiking, white water rafting, trail running, etc. Also, looking at the Lord of the Rings sites and sky diving are high on my list!
Do you know what classes you’re taking, if so what are they? Along with taking two or three Psychology classes to satisfy my major requirements, I’m also taking a sign language course and a class that looks at how gender/sexuality are portrayed in the media.
Tell us a fun fact about your international destination. There are more sheep than people in New Zealand- approximately 11 sheep for every person (43 million sheep, 4.1 million people).
