Congratulations on graduating! What are your post-college plans?

I’m starting a research position as a IRTA Postbaccalaureate Fellow at the NIH in September. This summer I’m working at a Boy Scout camp in New Mexico!

What’s your funniest college memory?

Auditioning for theater groups with no previous theater experience. RIP

What is your biggest fear about entering the real world?

I’ll start to hate cooking and resort to take out every night What is one thing you’ll be happy to leave behind? Loud, late night parties next door

What is the best opportunity you’ve received in your time at Columbia?

Learning from all my peers! There are seriously brilliant students here, I’ve loved spending my college experience with a group of bold brilliant beautiful people.

Do you have a favorite professor?

Christian Rojas in the chemistry department, what a multitalented dude

Are you planning on pursuing your clubs/hobbies after college?

Hopefully! I’m a dancer and would love to keep doing classes but they can get super expensive. Maybe I’ll transition to running or something cheaper.

What advice do you have for underclassmen?

Take it easy, your grades probably aren’t as important as you think they are. Enjoy the moments in between.

What do you still have to do left in your time here?

Visit all of the libraries at least once. I’ve still got a few I haven’t seen.

Last question: Are you happy or content with where you are right now, as a person?

Overall yes, although no one’s perfect. I’m probably a little more anxious than strictly necessary and could stand to get out more, but through college I really feel like I’ve become a much stronger and well rounded person.

Thank you Elizabeth for your amazing reflections and insights. We wish you the best of luck in the post-grad world!
