How I got involved in the Nutcracker: I met Emma and Michelle (the directors) in a dance group called Shock last year and I remembered hearing them talk about the Nutcracker. I’ve done ballet since I was three years old and I wanted to get involved in college, so I went to the auditions this year, which were advertised on posters around campus.

What my role was in the performance: I was in the Chinese duet with Kate Kelly!

How long I have been dancing: I started dancing when I was three years old and I’ll be twenty in June so it has been almost seventeen years!

What is my favorite memory: When Kate and I pulled off our acrobatic stunt perfectly during opening night, we were trying to keep from laughing during the rest of the dance when we had to face each other.

How can others get involved: Look for posters next fall advertising the audition date, look for the Colgate Ballet Company at the activities fair, or email balletcompany@colgate.edu.

What else I’m involved with on campus: I serve as a student representative on the Academic Affairs Board, I’m an editor for the Colgate Portfolio, I’m the Clubs and Organizations editor for the yearbook, I’m a member of the Colgate Pre-Health Student Association, and I volunteer  for Colgate’s chapter of the American Heart Association..I think that’s everything. :)
