In honor of Valentine’s Day, an annual “Fieri del Cioccolato” or “Chocolate Fair” was held in Florence’s city center this week. Italians are known for being passionate in their love lives, but they are also quite passionate about food—making for the best chocolate fair I have ever layed eyes on.
Becasue too many people asked me to be their Valentine, I simply couldn’t choose just one and opted to rather go alone to stuff my face with endless amounts of Chocolate.
At first, I took laps around the various tents—scavenging for free samples…
However, you can only get so many samples before people start recognizing you as the girl who is always looking or samples…
Luckly the chocolate shop was right on my walk to school, so not only did I visit on Valentine’s Day, but also every other day this week. This gave me plenty of time to actually buy (and eat of course) lots of different things—and I mean LOTS. Here are some of the delicious Italian sweet treats I induldged in!
Best part is—now that I have consumed my body weight in chocolate, I have really increased my chances of getting a Valentine for next year!
Moral of the story: there is nothing in this world that is better than chocolate…even having a valentine. :))
