As the cold weather creeps upon us, the decision between being cozy or looking fashionable becomes a true internal struggle in the morning. Luckily, some smart fashionistas came to the rescue and designed clothes that can tally in both the cozy and fashionable columns. These items are perfect to help you through the cold Colgate winters and are great ideas to put on your list for Santa!

Free People- Ruffle Up Tunic

Perfect for the holidays because you can dress it up or down depending on the occasion. Additionally, the flowy design won’t make you feel guilty about the Thanksgiving feast that you are probably still recovering from.

Splendid- Rayon Voile Bottom

A nice alternative to the typical black ripped jeans that you get your foot stuck in every time you’re sliding them on. These pants are comfortable and sophisticated and can be paired nicely with a turtleneck and booties.

Urban Outfitters- BDG Nelly Plaid Button-Down Shirt

Flannels are always in. A woman’s best friend: they are cozy, fashionable, unisex, and easy to throw on when you are too delusional to put an outfit together in the morning. Flannels are a must have and practically go with any solid pair of pants.

Frye Boot- Natalie Short Engineer Lug Fur

On the especially cold days when socks just simply will not cut it, these boots will save the day! Although snow boots are always a nice option, Colgate winters are very long and snow boots become very repetitive. These boots are durable and lined with fur, which will insulate just as much heat as snow boots.

Michael Lauren- Titus Sweatshirt Dress

Sweater dresses are just an all around good idea. They can be thrown on with boots or dressed up with the help of jewelry and tights. Additionally, they hang nicely on everyone and don’t restrict you during any holiday feasts.

Free People- Low Tide Cardigan

Cardigans are always a viable option because if you purchase the right one, it feels like a blanket is endlessly hugging you. Also, cardigans are very popular right now and are offered in many different styles, colors, and patterns.

Alala- Captain Crop Legging

If you don’t feel like getting changed before or after your workout, there is still a possibility of looking trendy! Aside from the popular Lululemon and Athleta, more brands are producing workout clothes that can also be worn as everyday outfits. Leggings such as these are a nice option if you have a busy day running around campus ahead of you.

Spanx- Faux Leather Leggings

Yes- these come from the same company that makes spandex for old people… however; they have expanded their inventory and carry leggings, such as these, which give you room to stretch and look great! These trendy leather leggings are perfect for the boots/booties that make regular jeans scrunch up at the bottom because they are too long and bulky.

One Grey Day- Kora Sweatshirt

The classic cozy, yet fashionable sweatshirt with a few added designs to set it apart from the rest. Always a practical item that is easily matched with anything.

Sundry- Light Terry Sweatpants

The best for last- Sundry. Notorious for their insanely comfortable material, Sundry is a popular brand for lounge clothes, but they are a step up from your grey Colgate sweatpants, therefore they are deemed fashionable.

These are just a few examples of items that are cozy yet fashionable, but there are many more out there to explore. Although it is said, “beauty is pain,” the phrase has many loopholes that must be taken advantage of, especially while bearing the immobilizing Colgate winters.
