10 Fun Colgate Dates!

As Valentine’s Day approaches, we all anxiously await and wonder if this Valentine’s Day we will have someone special to spend it with. If you are one of the lucky few that has a date for Valentine’s Day, here are some possible date ideas specific to Hamilton, NY!
 
1.     Go out to dinner: Though this is the most traditional date option, there are so many fun options for different cuisines. If you want a more traditional setting, pick the Hamilton Inn where they are offering a fireside dinner Valentine’s Day dinner. Their sophisticated menu offers an array of fresh seafood and meat. To spice things up (pun intended), check out the Royal India Café for a unique, adventurous meal. This will certainly be a “naan”-traditional dining experience. 2.     Go bowling: For a fun and inexpensive date, head over to the Reid Athletic Center and go bowling! Just like elementary school birthday parties, bowling is a great way to exercise and bring out some friendly competition. So lace up those bowling shoes and head over to the lanes!
3.     Go on a nature walk: With the unseasonably warm weather this winter, take advantage of it and go explore the cross-country trails behind the cemetery. These walking trails are an immediate dose of relaxation.
4.     Stay in: Why fuss over making plans when you can just hang out? And, what is more romantic than cuddling up and watching a rom-com? Make up some popcorn and heat up some hot chocolate and get snuggling!
5.     Go ice-skating: As mentioned above, this winter has been warmer than usual, but to get into the winter spirit, go ice-skating! You and your date, whether you skate or not, will have a blast gliding around the rink. Free skate at Starr Rink is on Sunday from 3:15-5:15, but check out local pond skating for a more adventurous date!
6.     Stargaze: Rumor has it; the top of the ski hill is where it happens. Grab a blanket, maybe a thermos with some hot chocolate, and head up to the ski hill for some stargazing.
7.     Go to Holy Smokes at the Jug: The irony in this is awesome. Go eat where you did the dirty on the dance floor. Reminisce at the place where you most likely first met (if you’re a real Colgate kid).
8.     Cook dinner together: What is more fun than going grocery shopping, then cooking with your date? Who knows what’ll happen during your together-time! For a more romantic feel, have a candle lit dinner and play some soft music in the background!
9.      Go to Gilligan’s for ice cream: Go on an adventure and take a short trip to Sherburne to grab some ice cream. In true Colgate fashion, order Raider Passion ice cream!
10.Get a couple’s massage: Head over to Hamilton Hands Muscular Therapy for a couples massage. Make sure to make an appointment beforehand! Maybe later in the night you can try out your newly acquired massage ideas!
