Snacking: Then and Now

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Colby chapter.

Snacking is something I generally try to avoid, but this past Valentine’s Day I ate more candy than I thought possible, especially after receiving so many candy grams from my generous friends! I was thinking of all the snacks I used to love when I was younger versus all of the ones that I like now. I stumbled upon a ton of snacks from the early 2000s and late 90s that we all used to love!

Here are 4 of my favoritres:

Dannon Yogurt: This, as well as Go-Gurt, was a go-to!

Dunkaroos: These were my all time favorite. There’s nothing better than Funfetti frosting!

Smuckers Uncrustables: These sandwiches were heavenly, and so convenient!

Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream: These were a go-to every summer.

Since being in college, I’ve noticed that I’ve begun wanting to live a healthier lifestyle. I snack on things that are very different from when I was younger. Take a look at some go-to snacks that I find to be really tasty, but are also good for you!

Almond Butter: It’s my all time go-to, and it comes in so many flavors!

Apple slices and peanut butter: Is there anything more to say? It just tastes better cut like that.

Skinny Pop Popcorn: It’s literally like eating air, except it tastes SO good!

Fiber One Bars: Instead of eating Go-Gurts like I used to, these are my morning wake up bars – plus they have chocolate in them!

Microwaveable quinoa: it’s honestly way better than it looks, and so easy to make!

Chocolate covered almonds: When I am craving chocolate, these chocolate covered almonds are a necessity!

Happy snacking!
