11 Signs You’re Back for Fall Semester at CNU

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CNU chapter.

Fall semester has officially begun! Welcome back Captains – new and old! You’re most likely excited to be back and have the comforts of CNU at your fingertips once more, but there have also been a couple changes around campus. Either way, there are some telltale signs you’re back for classes. Like…

1. You’ve explored the new building and either love the clear glass on the fourth floor or are completely terrified of it.

2. You’ve resigned yourself to the fact that the line for picking up packages will be super long, but you need your textbooks and will deal with it anyway.

3. You have to figure out all over again how long it’ll take you to walk or drive to your classes from your new room, whether it’s on campus or off.

4. Football season is among us. And along with it, tailgating. And the inevitable fireworks. Because CNU does that at football games.

5. You’re reminded once more of all your favorite days of the week at Regatta’s and Commons. (Tender Tuesday, Buff Chicken Wrap Wednesday, Taco Thursday…)

6. You can’t count how many times you’ve seen people take pictures in front of Christopher Newport Hall. Yourself included.

7. Einstein’s is once again your meeting spot for group projects and the place where you get your caffeine fix. Get ready for a semester back in the library.

8. Yik Yak is back, either to your delight or frustration.

9. You dream of hitting Buckroe or Huntington instead of classes. Especially considering the extreme Newport News heat and humidity.

10. You’re reunited with old friends and meet new ones. And it’s the best thing ever.

11. Whether you’re ready for the inevitable pile of readings that’s awaiting you, you know you’re back home for the semester.

Let’s make it a great year, Captains!
